Safer Internet Day 2024 - Inspiring Change

Safer Internet Day 2024 - Inspiring Change

6TH FEBRUARY 2024

This year all 8 Nene Education Trust schools are collaborating to raise awareness of Safer Internet Day.  The overarching theme for 2024 is ‘inspiring change’.

Safer Internet Day is the UK’s biggest celebration of online safety. Each year it covers an online issue or theme that addresses what young people are seeing and experiencing online. Created in consultation with young people across the UK, this year’s Safer Internet Day will cover:

  • Young people’s perspective on new and emerging technology
  • Using the internet to make change for the better
  • The changes young people want to see online
  • What can influence and change the way young people think, feel and act online and offline.

We hope that you will use this page as a portal to access various web pages, videos and resources that will support you with conversations at home and help to keep your own young people safe online.

Why is this important?

We have recognised that many of our young people have experienced issues online and that conversations about this can be difficult to start, particularly with older children.

Our safeguarding teams have collated a variety of links and videos that we hope may support you in your own conversations.  For anything else please do not hesitate to contact your child's school directly.

Resources

This is, by no means, an exhaustive list but these resources are available to support your conversations or to help build your own understanding of the wider world of technology.
