Victoria Newman: School Improvement Partner - Teaching and Learning
As Headteacher of our stand-alone academy for over ten years, I feel incredibly privileged to lead a school where love, inclusion, and high expectations are at the heart of everything we do. My passion lies in ensuring every child can thrive, removing barriers to learning and creating an environment where all pupils feel valued and supported.
My journey into education was shaped by my own experience of not flourishing within the school system. This led me to study psychology, initially aiming to become an Educational Psychologist. However, working in a primary school gave me a true sense of purpose. I began as a Learning Support Assistant and progressed through various leadership roles, gaining qualifications including NASENCO, NPQH, and a Master’s in Inclusive Leadership.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been leading National Professional Qualifications, especially in Behaviour and Culture, where I’ve had the opportunity to inspire others and promote inclusive practice. I believe strongly in understanding each school’s unique context and relentlessly pursuing the best outcomes for all children.
